White Plains Residence
This renovation to a mid-century modern home included a new cedar soffit around the exterior of the house with extensive exterior lighting, using efficient recessed LED lights to illuminate the entire perimeter. Globe pendants and recessed lights were used throughout the interior of the house and all electrical work was updated using programmable scenes with remote access. Wall paneling from various areas in the house was repurposed and installed running horizontally at the entry stair to accentuate the core of circulation and was paired with a custom Edison bulb light fixture to create an artful center of the space. New thermally insulated exterior doors with panels of glass were installed throughout to bring more daylight into the house. Painting of the interior and exterior quickly brightened the house and gave the windows more articulation; while the careful use of caulking all around greatly reduced the air infiltration making heating and air-conditioning more efficient.
