Stamford Residence

This project was a gut-renovation to the home's kitchen which included the demolition of a rear vestibule in order to create a direct path from the kitchen to the deck, through a modern sliding glass door. Energy-efficient lighting was used throughout the space and daylight was captured to light the space naturally through most parts of the day. Bright surfaces were designed to further accentuate the natural daylight and extend it deeper into the space. The perimeter of the kitchen was utilized fully, with cabinets from floor to ceiling, to greatly increase the storage space for the client. New, modern black windows were installed to efficiently seal the space from exterior air infiltration. A new wood floor was installed to match the floors throughout the house and visually merge the spaces.
